Investors Leaping Into Housing

A nugget from this morning’s “worse than expected” existing home sales report:

Sales of homes paid with cash, largely a reflection of investor demand, accounted for 26 percent of all existing home purchases, the real estate agents’ group said.

It looks like at least a few cash-flush investors are betting that buying a house isn’t as risky as leaving their money in the stock market.
